The “Organic Trade and Value Chain Development in East Africa” (OTEA) project focuses on the development of regional trade in the East African Community by establishing an Organic Guarantee System.
The overall goal is to improve the income and livelihoods of rural communities in East Africa through the development of market-oriented organic production. Policy development and advocacy at the national and regional level are complementary measures to strengthen processes.
Led by IFOAM – Organics International, it is funded by Swedish International Development Cooperation (SIDA) and implemented by AfrOnet, the African Organic Network and the National Organic Movements in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi as implementing partners.
